Volume Scan Production

Production of a book or technical publication may at times require a large volume scanning. A book of images or photos may require a thousand or more scans. Identifying and storing your scans (archiving) requires a file indexing or cataloging system for naming and catagorizing each individual file. Then the actual process of scanning may begin.Whith each individual scan, pre-set parameters may be applied to obtain the highest possible quality of image before any individual image adjustments are made.
Once your scans are performed and saved, adjustments to each image can be made. The quality, sharpness, and intensity of each image may vary. Some colors may need correcting, and sometimes an element must be removed from an image. All of this and more are subjective judgements that are made quickly and intuitively made concerning each individual image.

Optical Character Recognition

Optical Character Recognition (OCR) is the electronic translation of images of handwritten or typewritten text (captured by a scanner) into computer-editable text. The output can be converted into more than 30 different editable file formats. Software provides speed and flexibility to make the proofing process easier, faster and more intuitive, and automatically runs a spelling check. One can convert text to natural sounding audio files for playback or burnung to CD.
The ability to place fully formatted text within Word, Excel and many other popular word-processing programs opens up new opportunities and posibilities.
